WEST MICHIGAN — West Michigan saw a round of severe storms with heavy rain and frequent lightning Wednesday afternoon into the evening.
Berrina, St. Joseph, Branch, and Clahoun counties have all been issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning this evening, with Calhoun's ending the latest at 6:30 P.M. Wednesday. There was a Tornado Warning issued in Branch Co., but that has since expired with no confirmation of a touch down.
The strongest line of storms looks be out by 7/8 P.M.. Watch for impacts to your evening commute, especially south and east of Grand Rapids.

These storms will also provide some much-needed rainfall, upwards of half an inch to an inch area wide. So far, June has not had much precipitation. The first two weeks of June have featured only three days with measurable precipitation. The 'wettest' day this month has only recorded less than a quarter of an inch of rain; and that was back on June 4th.
Summer officially arrives Friday, June 20th with the Summer Solstice.
